What a fun project! Lynda used one of the Chinese coin tassels from the shop, along with a metal wafer die (I only have a few left and my supplier is no longer carrying these designs, so first come, first served!) She's also using some sari yarn

Make sure you head over to Lynda's blog to see more details and get the background on how she's using this fabulous piece to celebrate the Lunar New Year!

On this first page, Jackie used small pieces cut from sari scraps along with an embroidered Hmong star and my Art Deco Bookplates stencil.

For this second page, I love the way she created a pocket for loose beads using another piece of a sari scrap! Underneath, she stamped and painted an elephant from a hand-carved woodblock stamp.

Chinese New Year Mixed Media Closeup 3 - Jill McDowell

Can I say how much I love what Jill did with the Peking Opera mask she used here? The painting really transformed it! And I'm dying over how she used my Art Deco Bookplates stencil with embossing powder to make the collars on her figures. Too cool.
