I've always been a sucker for crayons. LOVE them! Example. For my 30th birthday, Cammi gave me a Pretty Princess coloring book so I bought a brand new box of crayons to go with it. I took them with me on the airplane when I went on a trip a few weeks later and pulled them out to color. The looks from the other passengers were a trip. My family was mortified. I had a blast. Anyway, I'm totally bored at work today (token work day... I have 2 conference calls and then I'm outta here!) so I've been browsing the blogs I have bookmarked. I found this quote on one of them and I just loved it, so I had to grab it and post it here. Crayons are awesome.
Robert Fulghum : Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with their imagination.
Doesn't that sound like so much fun? Okay, note to self... buy a fresh box of crayons at Target today while running errands. 64 colors, with the sharpener built in :)
I do believe this IS what the world needs now, along with Love sweet Love!
