As I'm continually playing catch-up (where did August go? Seriously!) I wanted to make sure that I got another post up with more pages from my ARTifacts art journal. A busy year means that there's always plenty to document in my journal! May was no exception...
I collaged some hand-printed papers in the background, then added a hand-printed tag and some fun washi tape and other embellishments, including a Dresden medallion peeking through.
I really like the gold threads hanging down from the top! The tag flips up to show the painting I made for my mom's birthday present, along with some journaling:
The next spread documents the week I spent out in Connecticut teaching and then taking classes from Lynne Perrella (what a treat!)
The left side documents my teaching - I had a full-day Mixed Media Shadow Boxes class at Papercraft Clubhouse, and was shocked to have 13 people come on a Wednesday!
There are multiple flaps on this side; I had a tag that was leftover from another project that I attached with some MT washi tape and then I added one of my boho collaged fish. That flips up to show my class demo piece:
That was all attached to a fun little 7 Gypsies folder that flips up to show the projects from the class members and a few photos from the day:
The other side documents the weekend with Lynne - on the front is our class photo taken on the last day:
That tag flips up to show my class project and a few other memories...
May was obviously quite a busy month! Next up, documenting my StencilGirl projects for the month as well as the cards I sent for our bi-monthly ATC swap:
On the left, I used an old library card pocket to do a little insert with my project, and the journaling is on the back:
On the right, the tag with the ATCs on it flips up to show one of the cards that I got back in the swap, along with more journaling... I added some lace trim from my stash, stenciling with my Art Deco Borders stencil, and some old rubons. Of course, since it was a mermaid / underwater theme, I had to use mermaid washi tape!
Finally, the last page documents my big shop update that happened that month... these are always a TON of work for me, so I like to add it in as a reminder of what all I was able to accomplish!
This was a quick page with a painted background, then I collaged on some paint skins from my pallette and finished it with stenciling using my Ornamental Floral Screen stencil with some white paint. I also added on an old scrapbook border and some rubons, just to fancy it up even more... lol.
That's it for May's pages! Hopefully I can get caught up soon, but of course, September is another VERY busy month! (Aren't they all?)
Love all the pictures of your artwork that you include plus all the little flip pages.
