Today Linda Edkins Wyatt is sharing a stunning upcycled shoe box using some of the embellished trims from the shop!
Linda has been painting, collaging, stamping, stenciling, and decorating shoe boxes for years, and she happened to have an empty box on her design table was just the right size for this project. She used some yellow embroidered floral trim and patchwork sari silk trim along with an embroidered sheer sari silk remnant from her stash. (Watch the shop updates for similar fabric remnants that are coming soon!)
On the front, you can also see a beautiful piece of vintage Turkmen jewelry that came in a selection of random jewelry parts (these are sold by weight - each ounce comes with a special piece like this, randomly chosen from the mix I get from the Middle East.)
I'm absolutely in love with this idea... I have a stack of empty shoe boxes in my closet just waiting to be transformed and I'm feeling inspired! Make sure to stop by Linda's blog to see lots more detail and background on her beautiful project!
FYI, if you're loving the trims Linda used, throughout the entire month all of the beaded and embellished trims in my shop (actually, all ribbons and trims except for sari yarn!) are on sale for 10% off with the coupon code FancyTrims10.
